Are You Getting Enough Time for Creativity In Your Business?

Are You Getting Enough Time for Creativity In Your Business?

The obvious goal of an entrepreneurial endeavour is to create new products, services, or improve business procedures to boost earnings.

In order for a business to prosper, creativity must be applied. But being creative is an end in and of itself, so make time to just let your ideas run wild.

Google’s 20% Time for Engineers

A well-known guideline at Google applies to its engineers. It allots them one day a week, or twenty percent of their time, to focus on their own hobbies. Known by some as “employee goof-off time,” it is actually a crucial component of the product development process at the organization.

What are they doing with twenty percent of their time? In the innovative corporate culture Google has promoted, you might envision some intense paper aircraft races and solitaire games, but not so. Gmail and AdSense are two of the supposedly ground-breaking products from this creative period.

For those of its creative employees, the company includes creative time within their workplace. Engineers at the firm can only develop original, cutting-edge items by experimenting with their own concepts.

Do You Get Your 20% Time?

Would your company change if you spent twenty percent of your working hours solely exploring and being creative? To what extent of your time do you explore with novel concepts without caring about the results?

Recall that not all of the time are brainstorming and other creative exercises goal-directed. You should set aside some time for creativity just to let your imagination run wild. It will work for your small business if it does for Google.
