How do you handle a creatively demanding business problem?
Like most individuals, you address the issue by sitting at your desk at work. You gnaw on pencils, rumple up bits of paper, and pause now and again to stroll or fetch another cup of coffee. Do the ideas, however, actually exist?
Ideas can come to some creative people at any time and anywhere. Still, most of us have particular hobbies that inspire our creativity. Find these activities and make use of them if you wish to perform at your best creatively.
Get Ideas from Sleeping & Awaking
Many people find that sleep, for some reason, stimulates their creative juices. Perhaps it has to do with the way the mind becomes irrational during dreaming. Dreams allow your mind to truly think creatively and without any constraints.
While some discover inspiration first thing in the morning, others get ideas late at night. Keep a notebook next to the bed so you can scribble down ideas as soon as you wake up if you find yourself dreaming up your greatest ones.
Get Ideas from a Good Talk
Talking to people can be a terrific way to get fresh ideas. Talking a problem out with someone else helps you “talk it out,” and frequently you may come up with a workable solution. They can mention something that sparks your idea, or you might think of it during the conversation.
One does not need to be a business partner or colleague to be inspired. Anybody can benefit from a conversation. The most original ideas can really come from speaking with someone who is ignorant of your issue.
Get Ideas from Quiet & Solitude
Though you might also get ideas when reading, meditating, or just taking in the quiet. For the express reason of boosting their creativity, many people meditate. When they concentrate on the problem and sit motionless, the answer seems to materialize.
Get Ideas from Getting Moving
Exercise can stimulate your imagination. That’s the reason long walks frequently spark brilliant thoughts. Some discover that exercise stimulates their creative juices in addition to their blood. If this describes you, bring a portable audio recorder or quickly capture your thoughts on the phone in between sets.
Get Ideas from Mundane Activities
For some reason, the least interesting things frequently spark original thought. Whether you’re in the shower or answering nature’s call, a thought strikes and you have to write it down. Perhaps this is because the task is dull, letting your thoughts to wander into a Zen-like state of openness.
Finding out when you receive your best ideas is your job. Perhaps not when you’re ‘working’ at your desk. List these activities and, to prevent ideas from vanishing, have a notebook or recorder close at hand.
